Kaylyn & Sam's Island Wedding
Kayln & Sam got married at a quintessential island home on Great Diamond Island in ME. The property is a generational family home overlooking the Casco Bay and Portland's urban coastline beyond the choppy waves. We arrived in style with Fogg's Water Taxi and Charters and unloaded at one of the island's long standing docks. We were picked up by the father-of-the-bride in a pick up truck with all our buckets of blooms & materials in tow. Mother Nature gifted us with a gorgeous sunny day making this intimate and coastal wedding truly a memorable experience.
Although all my weddings incorporate floral aspects, Kayln & Sam’s wedding was the epitome of romantic floral inspired. Flowers were not only used as the ceremonial backdrop (we designed a floral arbor, aisle markers, and sprinkled dried petals down the aisle), but the tablescapes each featured eucalyptus, laid foliage, and rose heads, as well as the bridesmaid all wore floral print dresses. As a mid Summer wedding, they utilized a lot of natural greens and intentional pops of color with pink, white, and rust-colored roses among other flowers.
The couple worked with Charli of Confetti & Cocktails, a full-service wedding and event planning studio based in Southern Maine. Personally, we loved how the color elements were so beautifully tied together in all the planning and design. Charli and her staff did a wonderful job with the decor details. For instance, the tablescape incorporated rust-colored glassware and pink candle holders that matched the colors of the bouquets, boutonnieres, and floral arbor we designed.
