Valentine's Day Shoot at Beech Ridge Barn

We created a beautiful, strong, and sexy bridal inspired mini-shoot drawing from the colors of love and femininity. We designed a modern-bohemian yet minimalist aesthetic with a funky and whimsical flair set against the quintessential rustic Beech Ridge Barn in Scarborough, Maine. The juxtaposition between the earthiness of the barn and the colorful and playful palette of the florals, provided by Petalage Florals, evoke a festive and jovial spirit that is needed during the long winters here in Maine.

Most important we worked in a collaborative setting bringing together very talented local vendors to make this vision come to life. Natalia Provencher captured the moment and paired it with her rich moody photography whereas McKenzie owner of Skyes Artisan Bakes brought some abstract-styling with her gorgeous cake. Luxe York Salon contributed to hair and makeup along with Elise Marie Designs’ handmade jewelry making our model Paulette Abourjaily sparkle and shine. Paulette rocked a sexy tulle skirt made by Madeleine Fig based out of California and daring Sam Edelman booties that were sparkly and magenta. Maddie owner of Sugar House Stationery topped it all off with her edgy black and white stationery with a touch of magenta to tie in the pink deliciousness of the color palette.

We also wanted the shoot to have an ode to Valentine’s Day and a sense of female empowerment. A Plus Party Rental helped with a lovely vintage style settee and club chair allowing for some boudoir inspired angles. While the curation of a boho rug, milk glass and a handmade, driftwood, rose mobile created a stunning backdrop. Flowers didn’t stop there as Petalage Florals created an almost tropical modern inspired bridal bouquet with ombre roses, ranunculus, Monstera and Fern leaves and tied it off with handmade ombre silk dyed ribbon by Atelier Frost.

The team, the styling, the location and primarily the spirit of the people involved allowed for a unique and empowering moment that we all need sometimes as women and female entrepreneurs!
